Randstad has been engaged to support one of our flagship clients, a global market leader in the pharma and biotech space. This company has a huge global outreach, and an emerging presence here in Australia. It's a very exciting time to be part of this operation as it continues its growth and increase in its operational capability here in Australia.

We will be supporting them across a number of key vacancies within their Melbourne team. Currently we are looking to speak with Quality Control Associates within Sample Management and Lab Support.

Shifts: Morning (6am – 2pm) and Afternoon (2pm - 10pm) available.

The Role:

This individual contributor role is based at the Client’s Clayton manufacturing facility and will play an important role in supporting GMP Manufacturing Operations through rigorous sample management, stability study coordination and day-to-day laboratory support. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, traceability and compliant handling of samples throughout their lifecycle, while ensuring stability studies, laboratory systems and controlled-temperature environments operate reliably and in accordance with approved procedures.

Working on either first or second shift, Monday to Friday, you will combine hands-on laboratory execution with strong ownership of documentation, LIMS activities and stability program coordination. The role offers broad exposure across Quality Control and manufacturing support activities, with opportunities to collaborate cross-functionally, drive continuous improvement and explore how Generative AI and digital tools can help improve documentation workflows, knowledge retrieval, operational efficiency and laboratory processes within appropriate GMP and data-integrity controls.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform routine sample receipt, inspection, aliquoting, storage, distribution and shipment in accordance with approved procedures and applicable GMP requirements.

  • Perform sample aliquoting within biological safety cabinets, applying appropriate aseptic techniques to maintain sample integrity and prevent contamination.

  • Maintain complete sample traceability and chain of custody, ensuring accurate and contemporaneous sample records are maintained within LIMS.

  • Coordinate stability sample pulls to ensure samples are collected, tracked and distributed for testing in line with approved study schedules and required timelines.

  • Create and maintain stability studies within LIMS, including study setup, sample scheduling, tracking and associated data management.

  • Monitor and maintain controlled-temperature units used for sample and laboratory material storage, including routine checks, alarm response, issue escalation and troubleshooting.

  • Manage laboratory inventory, including procurement, stocking and replenishment of reagents, solvents, consumables and other laboratory materials required to maintain uninterrupted operations.

  • Perform laboratory support activities including glassware washing, laboratory organisation, cleaning and routine equipment maintenance.

  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with cGMP, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Data Integrity principles, approved procedures and laboratory safety requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with Quality Control, Manufacturing and other cross-functional partners to coordinate sample and stability activities and support continuous improvement initiatives across the Clayton facility.

What You’ll Need to succeed:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.

Experience: 2+ years of experience in a cGMP laboratory environment preferred.

Our client beleive that an in-person culture is critical to their success. Therefore, this role is 100% onsite, reflecting the importance of being physically present to support the work, collaborate closely with colleagues, and contribute to our site-based operations.

If this role sounds like something you'd be keen to discuss further, please reach out to me on will.stewart@randstad.com.au with urgency.

I will be conducting candidate interviews this week, with the intention of moving forward to shortlist by the end of this week.
